First Time Hong Kong Experience || Counting Days
March 06, 2016Eleven days from now (as of the writing of this post) and I'll finally step out of the country for the first time. I have never felt this excitement in my life before, butterflies are flying crazy in my stomach. I have been planning this trip for the last two years and the most awaited date in my calendar by far for this year is fast approaching.
Preparations
Passport is ready and excited to get it's first ever tattoo, back and forth plane ticket are ready, hotel accommodation for 4 nights and 4 days is ready, pocket money has long been saved up, almost everything's set except for the itinerary. haha! I have been doing my research and there're quite few must-visit places in Hong Kong so I haven't really made up my mind yet as to what places I'm gonna include in the itinerary or maybe I'm gonna have to fit em all in our 4 day tour.
Places Planning to Visit
Disney Land and Ocean Park are two of the most important destinations in Hong Kong that I have in my list and they're on top priority. Victoria Peak where Madam Tussauds Wax Museum is located, Ngong Ping Village, riding a star ferry, symphony of lights, cable car and Avenue of the stars are some of the places that're on my list. Apart from visiting the said places, hunting for authentic Chinese dishes, experiencing the night life and shopping spree (if my budget permits) are also on my list. yipeee!
First thing to must-have before stepping out of the Airport
I've done my research for the do's and don'ts in Hong Kong and most travelers are suggesting to get an octopus card before getting out of the airport. It is like the MRT stored value card here in the Philippines however the octopus card can be use in almost all public transportation in Hong Kong and purchases into some convenient stores such as 7/11 and many more. It's a prepaid card that can be reloaded in any MTR stations or in 7/11.
I'm really very excited and quite nervous (haha), as I will be traveling to a foreign country for the first time. If only I could fast forward the time till the day of out trip and pause it for 4 days while we're in Hong Kong :D.
